HI Peaceful F&B Lotion

20110730-114408.jpg

So, here it is. Holistic Isranfi’s own blend of soothing lotion for face & body that I chose to name ‘Peaceful Face & Body Lotion‘.. It’s my product, so I can name it whatever I like ok.. Ha ha.

This lotion was ordered by Georgia, a friend of my cousin Irma- whose blog is on my links.

I put in alot of love, time & Reiki in it.. Not to mention my beloved essential oils.. I’m not the stingiest bastard when it comes to ingredients, no no not at all!

I could probably do with a nice colourful label with everything printed and waterproof too, of course- but hey these are early times.. who knows, if I have more orders and have more profit then I can invest in that- insyaallah. Besides, handwritten labels are romantic doncha think! 🙂
I hope Georgia will enjoy this handmade & homemade goody..

This one here is quite the performer- use it as a face or body moisturiser or as an emergency product to calm & soothe irritation. The Lavender & Tea Tree in it helps with the soothing business. Orange helps to boost the lymphatic system and Frankincense & Geranium are superb in replenishing moisture and at the same time very balancing for the hormones, thus creating a very peaceful & meditative blend for one & all!

For 125ml and at $22, this is definitely a life AND money saver.. 😉

Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet: Love & Marriage

Kahlil Gibran

These gorgeous words are from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.. An all-time classic favorite among millions including myself. Till now, I’ve not read the whole book entirely; preferring to savour it little by little.. Its intensity is quite unbearable for a mere mortal like me, I declare. Ain’t it funny that Love & Marriage are but 2 different subjects that requires separate attention and exploration..

Love

LOVE

Then said Almitra, “Speak to us of Love.”

And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them.

And with a great voice he said:

When love beckons to you follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him,

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

He grinds you to whiteness.

He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God’s sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart,

and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life’s heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing-floor,

Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;

For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, I am in the heart of God.”

And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

To know the pain of too much tenderness.

To be wounded by your own understanding of love;

And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

To rest at the noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;

To return home at eventide with gratitude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

Marriage

MARRIAGE

Then Almitra spoke again and said, “And what of Marriage, master?”

And he answered saying:

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.

You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.

Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness,

And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another but make not a bond of love:

Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.

Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,

Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.

For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together, yet not too near together:

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.

Luqman’s Wisdom

20110714-021836.jpg

I love reading about the wisdom of Luqman. Even have an application on my iPhone that stores majorly his sayings, advices and dialogues with his dearly loved son..

One is advised to read/listen to Surah Maryam, Surah Yusuf and Surah Luqman when pregnant. Although I feel anytime is good to read ANY of the Surahs in the good book. Now more so being pregnant, I feel closest to Luqman’s..

Here’s one for all. I’m sure all will agree with his wisdom.. And with this one here, it makes you realise who the biggest donkey is. Haha. 😉

Title: Luqman’s Wisdom

Wisdom 19

Content:

“My dear child, do things that are good for you and for your religion and your world, do all of those until all matters are completed. Do not mind what others are saying and ignore their scolding. There are no means for you to get their willingness, and there are no means for you to unite their hearts. My dear child, bring a donkey to me and listen to people’s comments, there will never be just one comment. The son then brought the donkey and Luqman rode on it. He told his son to pull the donkey pass a crowd of people, the people immediately said, “What a terrible and cruel person he is. He lets his child walk while he rides on the donkey.” Luqman said to his son, “Did you hear what those people said?” “Yes” said the boy. Luqman then climbed down and heaved the son to the donkey’s back. They walked pass another crowd of people that said, “Where are that boy’s manners, he sits up there while his father walks.” Luqman then asked his son, “Did you hear their comment?” “Yes” replied the boy. Afterwards, the both rode on the donkey’s back pass on a crowd of people that said, “You see how cruel they are, two of them riding on that poor little donkey.” Luqman then said to his son, “My son, did you hear the comments of those people?” “Yes” he replied. They both climbed down the donkey and walk and guide the donkey together passing a group of people that said, “Subhanallah, look at that healthy donkey walking lightly while the masters just walk.” Luqman asked his son, “Did you hear what these people just said?” “Yes” the boy replied. Then Luqman told his son, “My dear son, did I not tell you to do what is best for you and ignore what other people are saying, I truly wanted to teach you with the experience from this lesson.”

My Recipe : Prenatal Aroma Body Oil

My DIY prenatal oil ingredients..

Ok. So, I am an ITEC & IFA qualified aromatherapist. So I am 7+ mths pregnant for the 1st time and I should be worried about the nemesis by the name of “stretch marks” or striae (singular stria), as they are called in dermatology. So I should be doing my very own blend of skincare right? And not scramble to the nearest pharm AGAIN for creams, lotions & potions right? SO… This is what I’m up to then.. Wheeeeeee! 🙂

I’ve been mixing my own facial oils, massage oils, hair & scalp oils for my family and both for me and husband’s usage so now I’m gonna STOP giving credit and profit to Palmer’s and its lovely cocoa butter and make use of my lovely (and expensive) essential oils for my belly, breasts and wherever that this baby is stretching me and my largest organ out to! (basically everywhere!)

Thanks to Tisserand, one of my fav aromatherapy brands of course..
I love the Face & Body Pure Blending Oil, as it contains all the goodies you want in a base oil. There’s organic moringa, sesame, jojoba and is rich in antioxidants and Omega 6 and 9. Mix it with 3 extra good friends this pregnant woman can have- Lavender, Frankincense & Rose.. I could’ve used Mandarin instead, since its cheaper but what the heck.. Live and let live.. What better time to splurge on Rose anyway??..

Now, a disclaimer– I do this blend because I love these oils, and I like it obviously because its effective and powerful as a skin oil; but I won’t go around telling people this is the only good blend ok? No reader of this post should too. There’s loads of good skin recipes, easier on the budget too.. But during pregnancy, you’d be told that its prudent to use only Lavender. Bahhh! Bullshit. I ‘m sick and tired of sooo many spas and also other therapists pressing too much on contraindications during pregnancy! I was rejected to have a massage by countless spas and massage places just cos I was pregnant! Perhaps they’re not qualified, and if it’s that’s the case, I truly appreciate their honest rejection. But some tell me I”M NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE MASSAGES OR BE IN CONTACT WITH ESSENTIAL OILS. Hullo, I’m pregnant, NOT SICK AND AILING. Needless to say, I couldn’t be bothered at all to tell them I’m a therapist AND a trainer.. Sigh.

A pregnancy is a period that SHOULD NOT be ignored, in fact it’s a time to be pampered more and much generously.. Hell, if i could do me own pre-natal massage, I’d be doing it everyday! But see, I can’t. So I make my own potions, lotions and elixirs.. And I’m happy. 😉

Here’s a guide:

20 ml Base Oil

5 drops Lavender

3 (teeny tiny stingy) drops of Rose

3 drops of Frankincense

Shake/Stir it well, store in glass amber bottle and away from sunlight. I bet this amount won’t last long for me, but I’d like to improvise as I go along- so smaller amounts are goooood.

Enjoy!
